QUARANTINE LIFE: JUST A GAME?

This “Shut up and play” attitude is telling, arrogant, and oppressive. Athletes (and creatives, for that matter) are hardly one-dimensional. What is this notion that anyone, whatever their profession, has to sit out on conversations about weighty issues like racism, politics, or police brutality? They have every right to weigh in on circumstances that directly impact them.

Fans, a generally fickle bunch, can always take their business elsewhere, but no one has the right to tell anyone how, or not to feel or think.

Stick to the game? Be happy for the paycheck? I’m pretty sure no one signed away their humanity when they agreed to play—anything.
