QUARANTINE LIFE: CURRENT EVENTS

Thieves, crooks, frauds, liars and grifters

Cowardly, spineless, position shifters

These are your right hands

In so deep, it mars their faces

Mounting ethical, political disgraces

With glee they satisfy your every whim

Once respected, now they can’t believe their own words

Justifying evil as soon as it occurs

How massive is the dirt you have on them?

In lockstep, their legacies in tatters

No attention paid to what really matters

Souls sold-- and exactly for what?

Seats at tables stripped of respect?

Swirling doubt of their wisdom; intellect?

To be tethered to you by cords they're scared to cut?

Hiding out in luxury, but never safe

Boatloads of money, and it’s funny they wait

For you to pardon them for the crimes that they commit

They took the fall just to keep you legit

Enablers all, hoping you won’t forget

In your fickle, little hands is their fate

High profile cronies risked illness; some have died

Buried now, and with them, specifics why

Loved ones shamed by the blind loyalty

Bootlickers ignore that you're loyal to no one

You keep your hands clean, and when the deals are done

You completely forget their identities

Complicit in it all, they're hands are wringing

Whistleblowers, like canaries, urgently singing

Cameras catching every trip and stumble, now

Ranting and enraged; their time is fleeting

Can't win fair and square, so they’ve resorted to cheating

Can't just tell the truth--

They simply don't know how

Every day-- pettiness, chaos, and confusion

More evidence of gross incompetence; delusion

Corruption in high places is our foe

It's not just greed and selfishness we daily see here

It's insecurity, no empathy, intimidation, and fear

Development arrested long ago

An opportunist's dream; a crook's delight

As one by one, the people by his side

Prove they've no shame, and no integrity

Grifters, crooks, liars, frauds, and thieves

Still scheming; wheeling, dealing as a nation grieves

Another entry for the epic fails of History
