QUARANTINE LIFE : HYPOCRISY

It's no big deal

Until it starts to irk you

It's all a scam

Until it harms what you do

It's just a hoax

Until it's on your doorstep

It's just a joke

Until it threatens your rep

It isn't real

Until it overtakes you

It doesn't sting

Until you feel the pain, too

It matters not

Until it's one of your own

It isn't true

'Til it reveals what you've known

It isn't wrong

Until it hinders your plan

It isn't right

Unless it's in your command

It isn't missed

Until it handicaps you

It's quite enough

Until you come up short, too

It's not too much

'Til you can't get any more

It's not urgent

'Til it's what you can't ignore

It's all a game

Until you have to pay up

It's not insane

Until the crazy gets tough

It's not a crime

Unless your actions are seen

It's not a lie

Unless they skew what you mean

It meant no harm

Until your eye was blackened

It's overblown

Until you see what happened

Consider why

So much is okay for you

But can't apply

When it affects others, too

The tragedy

Guilt, embarrassment, shame

Could be foregone

So could all of the blame

Coming your way

If you don't open your eyes

No one escapes

The consequences of lies

The very grace

You simply refuse to give

Will, rest assured

Impact the way that you live
