ATTITUDE

Humility, cooperation, and kindness go a long way. A sense of entitlement and a demanding spirit are not endearing. The only thing those attributes inspire others to do is ignore you AND your offering. No one ever has to, or is supposed to do anything for, or with you--or appreciate what you have to give. There are no rules or laws that require anyone to be supportive of you. A "tit for tat" expectation will leave you bewildered. Try to guilt, or force people to be supportive and see what happens. You and your wonderful self will be all alone.
Most people respond favorably to what is good, because it's good. No one has to browbeat or beg them to rally behind it. What's truly good speaks for itself, but even good stuff will be overlooked if it is packaged offensively, or presented arrogantly.
Maybe you're not getting the response you desire and are frustrated because you're offering up your stuff to the wrong people. Reciprocation is not always guaranteed. Don't ever expect to get in return what you give if your giving is poorly motivated.
