QUARANTINE LIFE: POETRY PROMPT--- STAY ENCOURAGED

In an instant, things change
For a while, it seems strange
You’re not too sure what to make of it
Do you go?
Do you stay?
Hopeful thoughts fill your heart
And you humor yourself
For the sake of it

When you’re quiet, and still
Every word that you hear
Feeds a part of you
And keeps you sane
So you reach for the cheer
Cast aside doubt and fear
Sent to worry you once again

Wisdom says, it’s not new
Those who came before you
Dealt with troubles and challenges, too
It’s in how they survived
Where the answers are found
How Hope can empower you

Try hard not to forget
If you see there’s a need
Do the best you can to help
If you’ve learned nothing else
But for grace, you could be
Trading places
And in need, yourself

No, it doesn’t make sense
It's no coincidence
You may cry
Without knowing why
It could be the least thing
That makes you smile, and sing
And remove the dark clouds
From your sky

Just breathe deeply, and know
That you’re never alone
And this too, shall surely end
But, until that time comes
Be at peace, and be glad
That knowledge is still your friend
