QUARANTINE LIFE: TELEVISION

I was 11 years old when “Jesus Christ Superstar” made its Broadway debut, but I was a teenager when I heard the music for the first time.

Lately, I recall my favorite lyrics:
“Try not to get worried; try not to hold on to problems that upset you; worries. Don’t you know everything’s alright, yes, everything’s fine, and I think I’m gonna sleep well tonight...”

I watched the revival, starring John Legend, when it aired March 10th on PBS, and was fascinated by the visual beauty of the production.
The vocal power and musicianship was breathtaking.

I’ve been a fan of John Legend ever since my daughter came home from college with a homemade CD she’d bought after hearing John Stephens in concert in Philadelphia, but I am a new fan of Brandon Victor Dixon.

I see that JCS will be airing again April 12th on NBC.
I’ll be watching.
