QUARANTINE LIFE: SHUT DOWN

I shut it all down
Your charades masquerading
As service to me
Were all about you
Every week, substance free
And a spectacle, too
I shut it all down
 Now there’s silence
So quiet, you should hear my voice
But you’re used to your show
Still maintaining the noise
That was never my choice

I shut it all down
So you'll notice the things
You've neglected so long
How far can you go
'Til you notice your habits
Were horribly wrong?
I shut it all down
Still you think sacrifice means
You shouldn't obey
Your mind isn't sound
Look around! Can't you see
Leaders dying today?

I shut it all down
Your churchy behavior
Makes you look like fools
You're right in your own eyes
You’ve trimmed every precept
And bent every rule
I shut it all down
You still want to defend
How you've handled what's mine
You've scattered my sheep
Turned yourselves into kings
And robbed my people blind

I shut it all down
Go inside; stay there
And wait for my word
It's best that you pray
That my judgment subsides
And my patience returns
I shut it all down
I watched and I waited
And now it's my turn
I warned you I'd move
But you silenced the truth
Now you're all going to learn
