QUARANTINE LIFE

There's a part of me

That can't help but feel

That we were all supposed to stop

And be still

Just sit back a spell

Rethink what we know

Consider what's worthwhile

And what to let go

But here we are

The tables have turned

Do we have regret

How much have we learned?

Some are pressing on

Causing others to cry

Knowing they won't feel the pain

That results when they lie

As the heroes fade

Overwhelmed by the task

Stubbornness prevails

We won't do what they ask

There's a part of me

That thinks, years from now

The failures of today

Will be teachers, somehow

How to heed the wise

Clear what's misunderstood

Gear our hearts and minds to work

For the greater good
