There was an immediate need or want. I was given money and authority, and trusted to get whatever it was, and bring it home... no lollygagging, wasting time, or taking detours. If there was a substitution to be made I had the okay to choose what was equivalent or better than my mom’s original request. What I didn’t do was phone from the store to tell my mom I was there, or report what other people weren’t helping me to do. I didn’t shortchange her, or decide to buy something contrary to what I was sent for. I definitely didn’t repeatedly tell her what “we” needed to have. Why would I think she didn’t know? She already knew. That’s why she sent me. I was her representative. If she knew that all I was going to do was talk about what she needed but not deliver in a timely manner (or at all), she could have gone to the store herself, or sent someone else, right?
Ugh.
