QUARANTINE LIFE: SING

 

I don't know why it didn't occur to me

That I could just go ahead and sing

I don't need stages, or musicians accompanying me

I could just go ahead and sing

I could make up a song

Or sing one I already know

Sing correctly or wrong

Soar high, or lay low

I don't know why, but the silence spoke to me

That I could just fill the air and sing

There are no rules, or song police monitoring me

I could just go ahead and sing

It was shaky at first

'Cause it had been so long

I'm my own audience

Who'd know if the notes were wrong?

It made me smile when something spoke to me

"It's been a while. Go ahead and sing"

Just because you can; and you have opportunity

Who needs a cause?

Take a pause from all that's happening

Give it your all

Just go ahead and sing.
