QUARANTINE LIFE: POETRY PROMPT---SILLY

One showers you with presents

Works herself from night to day

Knowing all the toys and trinkets

Are the reasons why you stay

Daily stressing how to keep you

Nightly pacing while you're gone

Never enough toys and trinkets

She knows that you're not alone

One still hopes that God will damn you

She has nothing good to say

Every chance she gets, she seizes

To warn others, "Stay away!"

Her pain has left her bitter

Her countenance has changed

What love she felt had rotted

Broken promises to blame

Another one still wants you

Her true feelings shock the air

She hoped you'd come and save her

She knows now, you never cared

Though her belly, twice, was swollen

And her diamond gleams like snow

Her happiness is pretense

She still wonders where you go

Your own ring shines as brightly

Only jewelry on your hand

Another begs you to discard it

Would the giver understand?

Then, another

Numb from hurting

Still wanting, hoping still

Receiving you in darkness

Counting each encounter ‘til

The next time you declare

You'll not be the man you were

It's the start of every instance

Ends with you inside of her

Who are they?

Just silly women?

Who are you?

A man?

A boy?

Broken soul in search of real love

Never meaning to destroy

Never meaning to cause damage

Never meaning to bring pain

Wounded child in search of real Love

Silly women in the way

Silly women needing real love

Choosing wrong, and losing faith

Set sights on you-

Broken man-child

Praying that one day you'll change

Thinking that one day they'll change you

Confident they have the power

Silly women seeking real Love

Wounded child in search of real Love

Broken people needing real Love

In denial every day

The results of twisted teaching--

Wounded souls along the way
