QUARANTINE LIFE: INSURRECTION

I don't know how to feel

I don't know what to say

Running 'round in my mind,

Are the happenings of an ugly day

I don't know what to do

I don't know about you

But, something's got to be done right now

Before another day is through

I've got so many questions

Based on stuff I've observed

The hypocrisy's positively glaring

How'd they skip what they deserved?

The nerve of them to riot

I guess they're above the law

I guess there really are two sets of rules

I can't get over what I saw

I don't know how to feel

I don't know what to say

Playing out in my dreams

Are the happenings of an ugly day

I don't know what to do

I don't know about you

But, the thing was staged

Evil raged

And they've only caught a few

I've got so many issues

With the way things went down

The disparity's shocking

The excuses; the blocking

How'd they all get out of town?

No sound of choppers flying above

No accountability to speak of

No rubber bullets, dogs, or

National Guard boots on the ground

I don't know how to feel

I don't know what to say

Haven't uttered out loud

All the sadness of that ugly day

I don't know what to do

I don't know about you

But this stress is too much

And enough is enough

Somebody's got to pay

I've got so many memories

Harmony in our rear view

How my soul longs for Justice

Don't want to walk around so blue

It's time for consequences

An end to inequality, too

They actually stormed the Capitol

Who told them what to do?

I don't know how to feel

I don't know what to say

Trying not to be so anxious

About that ugly day

I don't know what to do

I don't know about you

But a break from the news

 Just might be overdue

To chase the gray away

I've got so many reasons

To believe things will change

Maybe this was the last straw

Someone just might explain

The pain inflicted by those

Whose madness was made plain

Who have so much to lose

And nothing worthy to gain
