QUARANTINE LIFE: POETRY PROMPT --MIND YOUR BUSINESS

MIND YOUR BUSINESS

You don’t know what they’re thinking.

That would suggest that you have access to their minds

You don’t know what they’re saying.

That would mean you’re busy listening all the time

You don’t know what they’re doing.

Even though a picture’s worth a thousand words

You don’t know how they’re living.

Ever wonder why your peace is so disturbed?

You don’t know where they’re going.

Are you a spy? A secret agent, now? Sit down.

You don’t know what they’re planning.

They’re over there, and you’re here on your side of town

You don’t know if they’re happy,

Sad, content, secure, or barely going through.

You don’t know if they’re living.

But you’re dying to know everything they do

Mind your business

That’ll occupy a multitude of cares

Mind your business

Nothing pertinent to you exists in theirs

Mind your business

You’ll discover it’s a wiser thing to do

Mind your business

Pay attention to the things concerning you.
