QUARANTINE LIFE: POETRY PROMPT---SEEDS

"Take these seeds, and put them in your pocket

So, at least, sunflowers will grow when you die here"

Please take heed, young soldier, you've the power to stop this

An unjust cause will rob you of your years

The faith of these seeds is greater than yours

They only obey what will nurture

And help them become all that they ought to be

Why choose you destruction and murder?

Take these seeds, and put them in your pocket

Your fall will lead them to rich soil

And the flowers that grow will soon erase all thought

Of the hatred for which you toil

You have come to my land, do you understand

For you, history will never be kind?

Take these seeds.

It's the best thing you'll ever do

Take these seeds.

Perhaps the memory of you

Will be made better by the presence of blooms

Your blood, sweat, tears, and impending doom

Ever marked by seeds you left behind
