BAD GRIEF
I’m noticing possessiveness
That’s faking as concern
A sick sense of entitlement
So easy to discern
The bullying is obvious
Manipulative, too
The motivation’s selfish
The gossip isn’t new
I see the desperate sabotage
The arrogance? Well known.
The plans to hinder and divide
Claim power as their own
Wouldn’t it be easier
To work in harmony?
Why the strife; the bickering
The animosity?
How far they’ll go, I just don’t know
But every day it seems
They dig, to find the smallest fault
To justify their schemes
To prove others’ incompetence
And cause distrust, and doubt
To reclaim lost positions
And push their rivals out
I wonder if it’s possible
That they are so consumed
With causing such confusion
They can’t see the gaping wound
They’ve wrought in their community
It’s infecting them the most
Shady dealings glaring
About which they used to boast
In their grief, they truly think
Their actions are for good
In their haste, they cause more waste
Than a fool ever would
They’re on a path, it seems,
To bring the whole enterprise down
Simply because they’ve lost control
And allies can’t be found
To maintain biz as usual
Ban accountability
Sweep shady stuff under the rug
And shun transparency
They’d rather see the whole thing fail
Than simply step aside
And give others a chance to lead
To manage, and preside
It’s wise to just avoid the fray
One must preserve one’s peace
Besides, the nonsense won’t last long
As proved by history
What’s happening is nothing new
Neither is the fate
Of those who sow seeds of discord
And operate in hate.
