THURSDAY THOUGHTS

You were taught right from wrong.

You were taught to be kind.

You were taught to respect others, and what belongs to them.

You were taught to be polite.

You were taught to play fair.

You were taught to applaud others.

You were taught to be honest.

You were taught to hear AND listen.

You were taught to be loyal.

You were taught to be genuine.

You were taught to care.

You were taught compassion. 

You were taught that you are no better than anyone else.

You were taught that hard work pays off.

You were taught to be gracious. 

You were taught to be helpful.

You were taught to be humane.

You were taught to be forgiving.

You were taught to love unconditionally.

Don’t abandon what you were taught.

You keep forgetting, however, that everybody wasn’t raised in YOUR mama’s house.

You have to stop being so surprised by what you see. 

You should take note and believe them, when people show you who they are.

You should reserve your hope, optimism, and grace for deserving pursuits.

You should put away any anxiety, after all, you’re still here.

You are covered by centuries of prayer.
