SUNDAY THOUGHTS

 Now playing at Mosaic Theater.

It was a bittersweet, tragic, and funny History lesson and biography, set to beautiful music. Roz White demonstrated the effects of good acting—you forgot that’s someone you know up there on stage. She became Lady Day. 

There was a REAL medical emergency in the theater, just as she began singing “Strange Fruit”. For a minute, everyone thought it was a part of the show. Fortunately, all was well, but when Roz took the stage again, and picked up where she’d left off? Chills.
