QUARANTINE LIFE: POETRY PROMPT---INFORMATION

You think you know?

You just believed what you were told

You think you’re right?

You ought to step into the light

You think that’s new?

You just might want to think it through

You spread the word

You made a mess of what you heard

And now, you know

You reap and sow

Now it’s your turn

What have you learned?

You’ve been well fed

And now you’re stuck scratching your head

You should have known

You should have found out on your own

You took it in

You made the same judgment again

You should’ve thought

You trusted much more than you ought

And now you cry

You wonder why

Was it a lie?

Open your eyes

You can’t believe everything that you hear

The truth of it, and the way it appears

Is so at odds, a fool knows easily

Not to applaud, until a story is complete

You have a source

You checked integrity, of course?

You seemed so sure

You’re wondering if there’s a cure

For guessing wrong

So very long

You took a side

Swallow your pride

You can’t believe everything that you hear

The truth of it, and the way it appears

Is so at odds, a fool knows easily

Not to applaud, until a story is complete
