I was reminded of a morning I spent working on a digital painting. I grew frustrated because I kept increasing the dimensions, but the resolution remained the same. Larger wasn’t better.
Lesson of the day?
Always check the attributes, not what's on the surface.
Don't make something bigger than it needs to be, especially if it:
wastes resources,
ruins integrity,
doesn’t make things better,
distorts or changes what demands no adjustment,
causes you to see less detail,
or clouds the scene altogether.
