QUARANTINE LIFE: MONDAY THOUGHTS

Everywhere you look

There's so much trouble

And so much pain

You're tempted to stay safely inside

Outside seems a tad insane

The goal?

To be out of control

Full of fury; lean in soul

But, I know you know

I trust that you know

Every day, more frightening news

Shared to unnerve and confuse

Especially designed to shake

Our faith; our joy

For goodness’ sake

How much grief can some bodies take?

I think that you know

No— I’m sure you know

Warring, angry, lost, alone

I'm not sure what this time has done

To hearts that seem so awfully cold

Eager to harm; brazen, bold

But, I know you know

I need you to know

I'm grateful, in spite of what I see

So many, so worse off than me

It seems there's nothing I can do

Except pour out my prayer to you

And each day, your reply’s the same

Leaving me no cause to complain

Remembering— you know

Yes. You always know

Can this trouble be sustained?

When it's done, who’ll still remain?

Perhaps, that’s your business not mine

Perhaps it all follows design

Should I just be content and say

How glad I am for this brisk day?

Lord, I know you know

I trust that you know
