There are so many things we’ll never know
So much truth we’re never told
It would change all that we’ve ever known
And our ignorance is bliss
What value in transparency
Making sense of every fallacy
In the dark’s where no one wants to be
So I would be remiss
If I didn’t say some things are better left unsaid
Some things do nothing more than multiply our dread
And in a time when good news, big or small
Is like a lovely waterfall
Why not promote the happiness we know, instead?
There are so many things for which we wait
And loss of patience causes us to speculate
And mourn not knowing until it’s much too late
But hope remains
Perhaps we’re at the corner, but when will we turn?
For better, brighter days we pray, and wait, and yearn
But we get anxious, and forget the lessons learned;
Forfeit our gains
But then we start again with grace and urgency
Harness our knowledge and our curiosity
Laying aside the urge to choose
Paths troubled minds told us to use
And aim to see
Not to repeat mistakes again
