WEDNESDAY THOUGHTS: ON THE JOB

Waaaaaaaaaaait a minute.
Are you mad at, or confused by the actions of someone you should be thanking and baking a cake for?
Were you blackballed or rescued
It's the difference between crying yourself into an insecure heap, or happily dancing up a sweat.

Everything is not for you.
Had you stayed; had you become entrenched; had you engaged, you'd be a mess, too.
Sure. There are places you can go and be extremely effective, but are they where you belong

Many have missed out on tremendous personal and professional relationships, and beneficial opportunities, because they believed the words of a liar.
Seek THE truth, not someone's biased version of it. You'll be surprised how it will impact your decisions and relationships.

Want to know something about someone?
Want to know the details of a situation?
Don't be a coward.
Before you come to a conclusion, go to the source and ask questions.
It's not hard to find people these days.
Both sides--no--ALL sides of a story are necessary in order to make an informed, wise, honest assessment.

One malicious tale; one unfair evaluation; one envy-driven assessment; one insecurity-laced opinion can be the difference between you being on the job one minute, and off the next.
What happened?
What did you do?
What did you say?
Did you offend someone?
Does someone have an issue?

When you find out the source; when you find out who's been dragging your name through the mud to make sure you don't work, participate, engage, progress, or succeed in certain circles, it can be disappointing-- and make perfect sense at the same time.

Some people can't afford to have you in the game. Your presence can be problematic.
Perhaps you know too much.
Perhaps you perform too well.
Perhaps you get along too swimmingly with the boss. Perhaps your presence throws a monkey-wrench in someone's agenda.

Sometimes it's the people you'd never think would do it, who have consistently thrown you under the bus, sabotaged your efforts, minimized your ability, and spoken for you without authority.
That may be unfortunate to realize, but it should not stop you from embracing a spirit of excellence.
No matter what; no matter where you are; no matter what you do or who's looking, ALWAYS do a good job.

Thankfully, there are still people of integrity everywhere, who think for themselves, and recognize the value of what you have to offer.
There will always be people who would be happy if you just go somewhere and disappear--and they think they have that authority because of who they think they are.
Don't give them the satisfaction of watching you shrink.
Maintain your integrity.
Walk in truth.
Do your best.
Seek to please God.
If He's cool with you, does it even matter what someone else thinks?
It's cliche, but it's true: "What God has for you, is for you."
