WEDNESDAY THOUGHTS: A LEGEND’S ADVICE

“…First of all, get an education in your craft. You don’t necessarily have to get a degree, but get some kind of knowledge in whatever it is that you do.

If you sing-- if you're a singer, learn how to sing correctly

If you're a musician, pianist or whatever--keyboard player--learn how to read, learn how to play different styles, learn how to be diverse, so you can play more than just the top 10 hits on the Billboard charts, you know. Be able to be diverse, because the more diverse you are, the more work you will get.

Always be under a covering, so you have a shepherd that can lead you, because this has got to be ministry. It can't be anything else but that, and so, you need to get fed, so that you can feed other people through your gift.

And, get people around you who know about the business, who you can trust, who understand your direction, who understand ministry, who understand where you want to go (in terms of what God's vision for you is), to assist you in the business end of it, and then learn all you can about the business yourself, so you know what you're doing, you know what you're signing, and you know the correct direction to go...”
