Sometimes, it’s after the fact that you learn you were spared from wasting time, energy, and resources, being a part of a fiasco, or being subject to poor planning, unsafe conditions, and careless decision-making.
By respecting the boundaries you’ve set, you’ve freed yourself to accept pleasant opportunities, or even create your own. By respecting your own time and acknowledging your limitations, you were available to occupy safer, more joyful, conveniently located, harmonious, lucrative, substantive, drama-free spaces.
The pandemic has been a course-correcting, eye opener.
You now know where you stand in certain circles.
You learned where you're best suited and respected.
You found that some people weren't as smart or responsible as you thought they were.
You were genuinely okay with being excluded.
You learned how well-organized and professional, or chaotic and mediocre some things and people were.
You became more thankful and grateful.
You reinforced your worth, and reassessed the value of your time and skill.
You reordered your priorities.
You considered more seriously, and thoughtfully where you sow your resources.
You learned what it looks like to be genuinely appreciated.
You got rest. (Lots of it.)
You found space and time to do the things that bring joy and fulfillment to your life.
You picked up a new hobby, or tackled things you’d had no time to finish.
The pandemic has been a trip, but the clarity and insight it has provided concerning working and personal relationships, plans and goals, has been priceless.
So many didn’t make it. You did.
Don’t look back or waste time on nonsense. If it concerns you; if it’s your business, then dive in. If not, save yourself, and stay out of it.
There are some things that simply aren't worth resuming or pursuing.
Business and busyness are not synonymous.
Preserve your peace.
