QUARANTINE LIFE: POETRY PROMPT--INDISPENSABLE

INDISPENSABLE

What do you do when things have lost value?

Do you hide them, ignore them, or throw them away?

Then, when you see them restored and new

Do you wish you'd looked closer; allowed them to stay?

Not looking deeper, is a mistake we all make

Not looking far enough, is too

The bigger picture is always there playing out

Directly in front of you

What do you do when things have lost value?

Do you recall the beauty, or start to forget?

What it's become, is partly your doing

Do you own that, say "sorry", and go back and get

That rush you used to feel?

Those gushing words you said?

That soft spot in your heart?

Those good days in your head?

Perhaps you should have kept it, instead.
