They thought the coast was finally clear
When they crawled out of the woodwork
They heard the things they'd been longing to hear
When they peeped from their closed doors
From holes, and dens, and private pens
And circles where truth's known to bend
They showed themselves, less innocent
Than they had done before
They lost their minds as they revived
What only fools would endorse
Given free reign, they caused great pain
Mostly to themselves, of course
What makes people think one who's loyal to no one
Would care a whit about them?
Now they distance themselves
From the hell they helped raise
And the evil they wouldn't condemn
There's no sneaking back with reps intact
There's no more room under the bus
Their complicity is no mystery
Their integrity is dust
History will be less than kind
To the rats now desperate to save
What's left of their credibility
As it drowns beneath the wave
