QUARANTINE LIFE: THOUGHTS

THE TALEBEARERS

What they think they know
Is based on what they heard
And what they heard was fiction
Few were the true words
And yet they felt so free
To repeat the tales
So sure their source was credible
So sure that without fail
Their spin would be believed
Based on the musings of a mind
Itself unsure, clouded; deceived
And yet it seemed to find
An audience quite gullible
And so eager to tell
Of business not the least bit theirs
But they shared it so well
And caused great grief and strife
Waste and anguish, too
And none seem the least bit concerned
How their acts impact you
They’re the variety
Always saying “Let go”
Always hoping that you’ll forget
The past they troubled so
Hoping you won’t, like them
Un-tame your tongue and tell
The truth of matters of which
They all lied about so well
But you choose to be wise
Hold on to what you know
Knowing that vengeance is not yours
And they’ll reap what they sow
