QUARANTINE LIFE: FEARMONGERS

Unfounded fear drives them

It's what they've been taught

And what they believe

Fuels the chaos they've wrought

Fear of change makes them anxious

Strains their weary eyes

They should be content

Their rants say otherwise

They don't even believe

Half of what they say

The lies that they tell

Have etched lines in each face

They just need a patsy

That sucker is you

Someone to do their bidding

Their dirty work, too

With all that they have

With so much to choose

What consumes them most

Even they can't excuse

They're all involved now

Could, but won't turn around

Their minds are imprisoned

No wisdom is found

They've inflicted such harm

That their guilt overwhelms

So obsessed with revenge

They've deluded themselves

They're itching for war

Yet no one responds

Still they prod and provoke

Those they've trampled upon

Apathy, ignorance

On every hand

The division they fuel

The violence fanned

Will cost them more

Than they even know

The stress is too great

It's beginning to show

In their own homes they find

The results of their hate

The sad consequences

Of learning too late

That complicity costs

The seeds that you sow

Often circle back

When the winds start to blow

They can't even fake

How little they care

Cushioned by wealth

No grief to share

No real regard

For ethics or law

Quick to point out

Your every flaw

Ignoring grace

They think they have time

A reckoning day, may I remind

Is coming for them

As it's been known to do

Bringing needed relief

And Justice, too
