QUARANTINE LIFE: MONDAY THOUGHTS

On December 9th, my ceramics professor at Howard University, Martha Jackson Jarvis, graciously opened her studio. I took with me one of the raku pieces I’d made in her class. The delight on her face transformed me into a 19 year-old all over again.

Lessons?

1. Go where you’re invited, and genuinely welcomed.

2. There are good memories in some things, that keep you from parting with them.

3. Teachers who love what they do, and care about students as people, are priceless.

4. Don’t put your crayons down.

5. There’s beauty and inspiration all around. Be deliberate about finding it.

6. Don’t ever miss an opportunity to tell someone how they positively impacted your life.
