QUARANTINE LIFE: THE CLEANUP CREW

The turkey vultures returned today to finish what the red fox started. It’s amazing how something can be unsettling and fascinating at the same time. The whole scene played out right outside my window, and I admit I thought about Tippi Hedren and Suzanne Pleschette when it seemed the birds weren’t enjoying being watched. I’m laughing now, but having your camera phone set to “live” makes for some startling images flying directly at you.

I read that they’re gentle birds, and like the red fox, are indigenous to Maryland. They look menacing, but don’t mean any harm. They’re just the clean up crew.
