QUARANTINE LIFE: SUNDAY THOUGHTS

Even from the safety of my quiet place

I sometimes sense trouble in the air

So many spent; exhausted; working hard to save

While others proving they simply don't care

Piling on confusion; stirring strife galore

(Mercy's stretched, but won't hold out for long)

Seems that those in power have a hate disease

No remorse for all they're doing wrong

Every day a new recruit for lawlessness

Makes me glad I've no need to go far

Angry, idle, citizens with selfish hearts

Daily demonstrating who they are

Why so many willing to fight for a cause

Mired in dishonesty and greed

Rushing to the crowds to make their issues known

Sacrificing all, yet still in need

Sowing seeds into ground they will never own

Cheering those who look down at their plight

Feeding into foolishness from evil sown

Powerless to fathom wrong from right

Weary citizens are counting down the days

Hoping as we wait, and army's grown

Of people with integrity and competence

To bring relief and peace to those who mourn

To snatch bullhorns from those who daily lie and steal

Whose consciences are seared, and minds undone

And rid us all of years chaos most unreal

And reestablish peace for everyone
