QUARANTINE LIFE: POETRY PROMPT-- DISPARITY

She was sleeping

He was praying

They were performing

Kid was playing

And all of that

Made someone fear for their life

He was selling

Ain't no telling

How many suffered

Begging, yelling?

But, something chilling that I saw

Struck like a knife--

An insurrection by a throng

No way to justify the wrong

How bizarre was the warm greeting that they got?

With glee, they vandalized a shrine

Terrorized leaders in real time

And all concluded, with a single fired shot

Oh, there was much to justify

Boots on the ground to rectify

The situation;

All could see the urgency

But this I know, within my heart

The scene would have been blown apart

If the rioters had looked anything like me.
